POUTERIA LUCUMA

It is a native fruit of the Peruvian Andes, cultivated on the coast and in the highlands of Peru at altitudes from sea level to 3,000 meters above sea level. Its use dates back to pre-Inca times.

This fruit grows on trees that reach up to 20 m in height. On the other hand, it contains important carbohydrates, minerals, fibers, antioxidants, niacin and vitamin B3.

TO HEALTH

It reduces the content of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, also counteracts overweight and helps the circulatory system.

It helps counteract depression due to its high content of niacin and vitamin B3.

For vegetarians and vegans, lucuma is the ideal source of vitamin B3, which is otherwise mainly found in meat.

Helps improve vision due to its high beta-carotene content.

Also, it is an excellent alternative to replace sugar and other artificial sweeteners.


APPLICATIONS
OF LUCUMA

PRODUCTS:
Lucuma flour: it has a sweet flavor and rough texture.
The harvest is carried out after 4 or 5 years of being sown and, subsequently, annually in April-October.

APLICATTIONS OF THE LUCUMA:
It is used to make ice cream, juices, even in pastry.
4 tablespoons per Kg is recommended in recipes: ice cream, juices and/or pastries.
It is recommended 1 1/2 tablespoons a day with a drink or dessert (approximately 15 g for adults and 10 g for children).
